Drafts and unsent messages
How drafts are saved, and what happens if your browser closes.
Drafts save themselves a couple of seconds after you stop typing. They appear in your Drafts folder on every device.
A copy is also kept on the device you are using. If your browser crashes or a tab closes while you are writing, the message comes back the next time you open Viremail, for up to seven days.
- The X in the compose window saves and closes.
- The bin icon discards the draft.
- On a computer you can have up to three compose windows open at once.
Encrypted drafts are only saved on the device you wrote them on, so the unencrypted text never reaches the server.
