Change or reset your password
Pick a strong password, or get back in if you forgot it.
Change it
- Open Settings, Security.
- Enter your current password and a new one.
- Leave Sign out of all other devices ticked if you think someone else might know the old one.
A good password has at least 10 characters and a mix of letters, numbers and symbols. We turn away passwords that have appeared in known data breaches.
Forgot it
- On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password?.
- Enter your address and choose Send reset code.
- Enter the six-digit code we send to your recovery email. It lasts 15 minutes.
- Choose a new password. Every device is signed out for safety.
A reset only works if you added a recovery email beforehand. If you use encryption, read What happens to encrypted mail after a password reset.
